Georgia Louise Crocker, a vibrant soul born on April 1, 1936, in Wheatland, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, in Independence, Missouri. She graced the world with her bubbly personality, brightening the lives of those around her with her friendly and outgoing nature. Georgia was not just a friend to many; she was someone who never met a stranger, always willing to share a laugh or lend a helping hand.
Throughout her career, Georgia dedicated herself to various retail sales positions, including Walmart, Western Auto, and Montgomery Wards. She carried that infectious enthusiasm into every job, making customer interactions feel personal and heartfelt.
Georgia had a love for the great outdoors and she found fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life, from nurturing flower gardens to spending time at her lake house and camping at Pomme De Terre. It was there she created cherished moments with friends and family that will be remembered for years to come.
Georgia was actively involved in her faith community as a devout member of the Full Gospel Assembly Church, extending her kindness and compassion to those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and friendship. Her selflessness was a testament to her character, and her mischievous spirit as a prankster brought joy to countless lives.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ross (Lowell); sister, Marcia Pierce; grandchildren, Nathan Newport, Matthew Newport, Melissa Arevalos, Jeremy Stussy and Amy Childress; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Eugene Stussy and siblings, Bettina Long, Gene Box and Linda Hines.
Visitation will be held on January 14, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Speaks Suburban Chapel, located at 18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055. This will be followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. Georgia will be laid to rest at Mount Washington Cemetery, with burial services starting at 3:30 PM.
