Georgia "Georgie" Ruth Wilmarth

September 15, 1934 — March 26, 2025

Blue Springs

Georgia Ruth Wilmarth, fondly known to all as Georgie, departed this world on March 26, 2025, in Blue Springs, Missouri. Born on September 15, 1934, in Keytesville, Missouri, to George and Girlie (Ellis) Bearden, Georgie lived a life dedicated to her family, career, and community, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by her loved ones.

A graduate of Northeast High School, Georgie carried with her a routine-oriented lifestyle that grounded her days—waking with the dawn at 6:00 AM and settling in for the night by 9:00 PM. Each evening, she found solace in watching the news from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, a testament to her keen interest in the world around her.

For over two decades, Georgie worked as a key punch operator at Montgomery Wards, showcasing her dedication and hard work throughout her career. She later retired from Kansas City Power and Light in the mid-1990s, where she served as a Special Accounts Clerk. Georgie's professionalism and care extended beyond her career; she was also proud to volunteer at Vesper Hall in Blue Springs and served as an AARP Driver Safety Instructor, generously offering her time to benefit others.

Known for her love of gardening, Georgie found joy in nurturing her plants and flowers, especially the beautiful lilies that adorned her home. Her passion for life and nature was reflected in her caring spirit. Georgie was deeply committed to her family, and her pride radiated through her accomplishments as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her beloved son, James "Chris" Vandolah; her cherished grandchildren, Timothy Lopez, Aaron West, Megan West, Jordon West, Afton West; and numerous great-grandchildren. Georgie’s family was her heart, and she nurtured them with endless love and support.

Though we mourn the loss of Georgie, we also celebrate the life she led—a life filled with dedication, routine, love, and pride. She joins her late husband, Harold "Hal" Wilmarth; her parents, George and Girlie Bearden; and her daughter, Pamela West, who have been waiting for her embrace once more.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO. Following services, Georgie will be laid to rest at Blue Springs Cemetery, 2800 W Walnut St, Blue Springs, MO.

Georgia Ruth Wilmarth will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts. Rest peacefully, dear Georgie.
