Joyce I. Gernetzke (Shore)

Joyce Irene (Shore) Gernetzke, 59, of Blue Springs, MO passed away January 7, 2020. A visitation will be held from 1-3:00 p.m. followed by a 3:00 p.m. service on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Blue Springs Christian Church, 7920 SW Highway 7, Blue Springs, MO 64015. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund at Blue Springs Christian Church for future projects and ministries. Joyce was born March 16th, 1960 in Waupun, Wisconsin. Daughter of Charles and Irene Shore of Burnett, Wisconsin. Joyce was a 1978 graduate of Horicon High School in Horicon, Wisconsin. She furthered her education at Greenville College and a travel agent school in Minneapolis. She married the love of her life Daniel Gernetzke on September 8th, 1990. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Joyce worked for GoGo Tours as a travel agent. She was a stay at home mom until she returned to work for the Blue Springs School District in 2008. She enjoyed spending time with her family on trips and supporting her children through their many activities. Other loves in her life included her pets, gardening, baking, her motorcycle, and the Green Bay Packers. She attended Blue Springs Christian Church where she was very involved in the worship team, the tech team, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and many aspects of the church ministry. She is survived by her husband Daniel Gernetzke Blue Springs, MO, Brigitte Gernetzke Liberty, MO, Aaron Gernetzke (fiance Megan Sims) Pella, IA , Jared Gernetzke Blue Springs, MO. Her father Charles Shore (Joan) Burnett, WI. Sister Beverly Smith (Wayne) Beaver Dam, WI. Brothers, Earl Shore Tullahoma, TN, David Shore (Kimber) Portage, MI. Extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Orpha Irene Shore, maternal grandparents Elvin and Amelia Hubbard. Paternal grandparents Amasa and Ivah Shore. Her brother Dale Shore and nephew Craig Smith.
