Dennis R. “Denny” Gervy, 57, Grain Valley, MO passed away unexpectedly April 9, 2016. Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, April 19 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; interment at New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Boys Scouts of America. Denny was born Sept. 7, 1958 in Independence and was a life-long resident. He graduated from Ft. Osage High School in 1977, was an Eagle Scout and a Firebuilder in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a plant operator at Asphalt Plant Sales, Inc. for eighteen years. He spent years hunting and fishing with his sons and walked many miles hunting Morell mushrooms. His most treasured title was that of being called “Papaw.” Denny was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Dorothy Gervy; sister Pam Reeder; brother Kenneth Gervy, son Jeff Gervy and best friend of forty years Chuck Thomas. He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years Sherrie Gervy; son Jeremy Gervy and wife Kelli; brothers Larry Gervy and wife Nancy; Greg Gervy and wife Susan; grandchildren Aiden, Lilli, Ireland and Logan. We will love you and miss you always, always and always.
