Patricia Ruth "Pat" Giamalva (Kerr)

Patricia “Pat” Giamalva, 90, of Independence, MO passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at her home. The visitation will take place from 9-10am on Thursday, August 9, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am at Nativity of Mary, 10017 E. 36th Terr. S., Independence, MO, 64052.

Pat was born on August 3, 1928, to Albert and Helen (Brotherton) Kerr, in Kansas City, MO. She met John Giamalva in 1943 at a high school dance; they were married on June 8, 1946. Together they raised two children, Frank and Patricia. Pat worked for Dr. Roy Garrison for 25 years then worked another 15 for Child Care, Ltd. Pat loved to dance, play cards, and take trips to the Lake of the Ozarks. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active parishioner of Nativity of Mary, and a member of the Altar Society. Pat volunteered her time at Truman Medical Center Lakewood.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Patricia K. Giamalva, of Blue Springs, MO; daughter-in-law, Becky Jaques (Timothy) of Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law, Louie Giamalva, of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Erin Johnston (Joey), Heather Giamalva; great-grandchildren Lexi Giamalva, Kyle Johnston, and Amaya Arnold. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son Frank Giamalva and husband John Giamalva.
