Ruby Mae Gilges, 64, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at the Medical Center of Independence. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 14th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Cremation. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ruby was born December 11, 1940 in Tuscumbia, MO to Opal Burks. She loved her family dearly and was known for being outgoing and independent. Mrs. Gilges retired from MCI as an LPN. She enjoyed antiquing, quilting and going to garage sales. Ruby�s favorite season was Christmas and decorating her Christmas tree and home. Mrs. Gilges is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ralph Gilges of the home; children Bradley and Linda Gilges of Pomona, KS, Kimberly and Gregg Rector of Oak Grove, MO, Kevin and Pam Gilges of Blue Springs, MO, Keith Gilges of Independence, MO, Karyn Barreto of Blue Springs, MO, Kathy and Jim Russell of Overland Park, KS, Heidi and John McRoberts of Independence, MO; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Wanda Burks, Evelyn Graham, Gayla Luttrell, brother Dallas Burks; special aunt Nina; host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her mother and brother Bobby Burks.
