Clinton Joseph Gillespie, 58, passed away on August 26, 2016. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m., with a memorial service at 10:30 a.m., both to be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. in Independence.
Clint was born on April 10, 1958, in Kansas City, MO, to Clinton Harvie and Mary Lucille (Nunez) Gillespie. He graduated from Raytown High School in the class of 1976. He met Brenda Findley in college, and they married in 1986. To this union were born two children, Ariel and Gabe.
Clint earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UMKC, and also did post-graduate work in Fine Arts in Photography. He worked as an ophthalmic photographer for the VA Hospital, KU Medical Center, as well as private practices. His passion and talent for photography and design was showcased in Boulevard and Kansas City Home & Garden Magazines. He also enjoyed shooting photos focusing on architectural lines. He liked the outdoors, cooking, and gardening, and he and Gabe loved watching movies and listening to alternative radio together.
Clint is survived by his son, Gabe Gillespie; former wife, Brenda Gillespie; sister, Desira Biggerstaff (husband, Stuart); brother, Robert Gillespie; and nephews, Sean and Connor Gillespie.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Ariel; and parents, Clinton and Mary.
