Mildred (Savage) Gillespie
Mildred (Savage) Gillespie, 84 of Sibley, MO passed away Wed, Feb 20, 2008 at her home. A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be 6:00 p.m., Tue. Feb 26, 2008 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams St., Buckner, MO with a visitation immediately following the service. The family request no flowers and request contributions be made in Mildred’s name to Crossroads Hospice or to Friends of Lakeside Nature Center for wildlife rehabilitation. Mrs. Gillespie was born on Feb 16, 1924 to Walter and Grace (Sanderson) Savage in Independence, MO. She had worked at the Independence Stove Foundry for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who enjoy quilting, cooking and tending to her beautiful flower garden. She was a member of the Osage Hills Community of Christ Church and the VFW post 6603 Auxiliary. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gillespie, a daughter, Pamela Beaver and a son, Marvin Burchell, Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Debra Hilburn of Bates City, MO; a sister, Alice (Savage) Copeland of Buckner; Seven grandchildren, including Rob Beaver, Renee Daugherty and Kristopher Hilburn and by several great grandchildren and great great grandchildre
