Gladys Irene Dyer, 81 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Ignite of Blue Springs, MO. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Tuesday at the chapel. Gladys was born October 8, 1942 in Kansas City, MO and has been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1961 where she excelled in playing sports. She and her late husband had a home on the lake in Warsaw and owned a Deli. She had worked as a bank teller for the Bank of Lee’s Summit for a number of years. She loved fishing and boating before moving to Belton. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and other board games with family and friends. She was a member of the South Haven Baptist Church in Belton, MO. She is survived by; 3 sisters, Judy Blundell of Independence, MO, Linda Hisle and husband Wally of North Kansas City, MO and Jean Weber of Independence, MO; niece, Debbie Hill and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Marie Myers and her husband, Alfred “Bud” Dyer.
