William Glasgow

William "Cowboy� Glasgow
William "Cowboy� Glasgow, 87, of DeSoto, Ks. died May 29, 2006. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. Mr. Glasgow was born in Sedalia, Missouri on July 11, 1918. He played minor league baseball for the Sedalia Athletics in Sedalia, Mo. William served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart for bravery. William was retired from the General Motors Plant in 1982 as a Line Supervisor for the Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac Division. Mr. Glasgow was a member of the United Auto Worker�s Union. He received his name "Cowboy� for his love of horses. He enjoyed riding and breaking horses and worked with his sister-in-law in this endeavor. Mr. Glasgow is survived by a son, William Glasgow of Lee�s Summit, Mo. and a daughter, Vicky Lynn Hawkins and husband Bill of Aurora, Colorado. He is also survived by three grandchildren; Scott Glasgow and his wife Sher of Lee�s Summit, Mo., Nicole George of Columbia, Mo., and Ashley Glasgow of Raytown, Mo., and by three great grandchildren; Colin, Tiffany and Faith Glasgow.
