Bernice Glenn

Bernice C. Glenn, affectionately known as Grandma Bernie, by her loving grandchildren passed away August 16, 2012 at her home. A service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mount Washington Cemetery. Bernice was born March 6, 1933 in Couch, MO to James and Myrtle (VanZant) Johnson. She had lived in the Independence area for all of her adult life. She enjoyed dancing, country music, spending time with her family and crafting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen H.L. Glenn; one daughter, Rhonda Glenn Lewis; and eleven siblings. She Is survived by one daughter, Phyllis LaRotonda and husband Terry; one grandson, Robert Allen and wife Kim; two granddaughters, Angela Jones and husband Tyson, Jennifer Howell and husband John; one sister, Barbara Tallant and husband Gerald; and four great grandchildren, Karlie Allen, Allison Allen, Megan Allen and Ian Jones. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
