Alice Glispey

Alice Jane Glispey, 94 of Raytown passed away Tue. Sep. 30, 2008 at Research Medical Center. Services will be 10 am Sat. Oct. 4, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep. MO. Burial Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 �" 8:00 pm Friday at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to The First Christian Church of Independence, 125 S. Pleasant, Indep. MO 64050. Mrs. Glispey was born on Mar. 6, 1914 to Winn and Minnie (West) Roberts in Ottawa, KS. She had lived in Colorado, Kansas City, Independence and Raymore before moving to Raytown. In her early years she had worked at Montgomery Wards and as a Seamstress to friends and neighbors. Mrs. Glispey was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing, cooking. Being an artist and spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Independence. She was preceded in death by her husband Oral Glispey in 2005. Mrs. Glispey is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Oraleen and Bert Manthe of Lee’s Summit, MO and Linda and Les “Skip” Carnine of Rogers, AR. A sister, Dortha Bodenhamer of Texas. Three grandchildren, Lisa Peverill, Wendy Presson and Thad Carnine. Eight great grandchildren, Hannah Peverill, Will Peverill, Connor Presson, Caroline Presson, William Presson, Kailey Carnine, Jenna Carnine and Alyssa Carnine.
