Oral "OG� Glispey, 91 of Raytown, MO passed away Thu, Jun 30, 2005 at Independence Regional Health Center. Visitation will be from 1 - 2:00 pm, Sat, Jul 2, 2005 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO with the funeral service being held at 2:00 pm. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church of Independence or the Raymore Christian Church. Mr. Glispey was born on Mar 28, 1914 to Oren and Sarah (Ware) Glispey in Fairplay, MO and had lived in Colorado and Kansas City before moving to Independence in 1945. Oral had been a Scheme Examiner with the KCMO Post Office and had retired in 1967, after which he became employed at J.C. Penney�s Department store in the Blue Ridge Mall for several years. Previously he had been a Gold Miner in Colorado from 1939 to 1940. Oral was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His greatest pleasures in life was his family. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, writing children�s books, woodworking and remodeling his home. He was a member of the Raymore Christian Church and the First Christian Church of Independence where he had served as Deacon and the Baptismal Services Coordinator. Oral was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Alice Glispey of Raytown, MO Two daughters and their husbands, Oraleen and Bert Manthe of Lee�s Summit, MO and Linda and Skip Carnine of Rogers, AR. A brother, Harold Glispey of Kansas City, MO and a sister, Cleta Morrow of Raytown, MO. Three grandchildren, Lisa Peverill, Wendy Presson and Thad Carnine. Seven great grandchildren, Hannah Peverill, Will Peverill, Connor Presson, Caroline Presson, William Presson, Kailey Carnine and Jenna Carnine.
