Betty Lou Goetz

October 17, 1933 — December 2, 2022

Betty Lou Goetz (89) passed away December 2, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Friday at the chapel. She was born October 17,1933 in Independence, MO. She worked a short time after graduating from Blue Springs High School, then married John L. Goetz November 27, 1952. John was the love of her life and she became a homemaker. She had two daughters Janice Sue and Donna Jean. Betty was a life-long member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, served on many committees, and was an Ordained Elder. She was one of the kindest people on the planet. She loved everybody and showed it in her daily life. She was the best wife, mother and friend. Betty put her family first and raised her children, had the grandchildren at her house daily while the parents worked. Then did the same with her great grandchildren. Her love for her family was always first. Betty was an avid reader, loved to cook, bake, sew and make crafts. She was a Royals and Chiefs fan. She loved planting her flowers in the spring. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, sister Virginia, and daughter Donna. She is survived by her brother George Norris, daughter Janice Nodwell (Ron), Grandchildren Carl W. Trober (Christina) & Christi Trober. Great grandchildren Zian, Mya, and Gracie Trober. Betty was an example of a life well lived - she will be sorely missed but not forgotten, as she will live on in our hearts forever. May God bless her soul. Thank you, Betty, for touching our lives. There is comfort in knowing you are in heaven watching over us for eternity.
