John Lee Goetz, 72, of Independence, Mo, passed away Monday November 20, 2006 at St. Mary�s Hospital of Blue Springs due to complications with emphysema and lymphoma. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association or to the American Cancer Society. John was born on January 19, 1934 in Independence, MO where he lived all of his life. John retired from the General Motors Leeds Assembly Plant in 1987 but continued to play an active and intricate role within his family and at both Westminster and Trinity Presbyterian Churches until his health prohibited. He will be most remembered as the person to call when you needed advice or something needed to be done. He enjoyed being outdoors, working with his hands, drinking coffee with his wife on the back porch, and taking care of his great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed but not forgotten by all who knew him. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty (Norris) Goetz, his daughter Janice Nodwell and her husband Ron of Independence, Mo, his daughter Donna Goetz of Blue Summit, MO, his grandson Carl Trober and wife Christina of Lee�s Summit, MO, his granddaughter Christi Almomani and husband Ahmad of Independence, MO, his great grandson and "Lil Buddy� Zian Trober, and his great granddaughter and "Lil Princess� Mya Trober.
