Janice Kay Goin passed away peacefully at the family home on Sunday, November 8, 2020. Janice was born December 6, 1957 in Kansas City Missouri and the family moved to Independence Missouri in 1960 where Janice spent the remainder of her life.
Janice graduated from Truman high school in 1976 and earned her Certificate of Cosmetology. Janice had a passion for all things involving beauty and fashion and worked as a stylist for many years.
Janice also had a deep love for animals and loved to feed the birds, garden and spend time with her cats, family and friends. She was an accomplished horseback rider and leaves behind her beloved horse of 20 years, Toby, who will be put out to pasture for the remainder of his days.
Janice had a 1,000-watt smile and lit up any room she entered. She was known for her style and fashion as well as her generosity and kindness. Janice will be missed by all those she cared for and those whose hearts she touched every day.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Ethel Goin and her lifelong friend, Gayle Kirk. Janice leaves behind her life partner of more than 40 years, James Ryan and many loving family members; Aunts Ruby Hicks of Napa, California, Mary Barnhardt of Sun City, California and Evelyn Arthur of Raymore, Missouri. Brother Harvey Goin (Ruthie), sister Joyce Meyer (Curtis), nephew Dale Goin and niece Debi Goin as well as her great nephews, Allen, Darren and Levi Goin, Destin Holsburg, Jostin Holsburg (Jasmine Roberts), great, great niece Ava Mae Holsburg and her childhood neighbor and best friend of more than 60 years, Nancy (Meyer) Watkins.
