Mary Catherine Golden, 91, Lee’s Summit, MO formerly of Independence, MO died Wednesday March 5, 2014 at John Knox Village House.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Old Lamine Cemetery in Copper County, MO.
Mary was born January 11, 1923, near Nelson, MO the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Hazel) Nowlin. She was a graduate of Nelson High School. Mary retired from Stuart Hall Paper Co. in 1987. She was a lifelong member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church and had served as trustee. She married Morris “Gene” Golden, January 11, 1942 who preceded her in death in 1996, she was also preceded in death by her daughter Carolyn Stout in 2011; two sisters; five brothers; and her parents.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Gloria Painter and Teri Campbell; granddaughters, Debra Barbee and Tammara Stout; great grandson, D.J. Hume; and many nephews and nieces.
