Danny Joe Gorden, 74, Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Crossroads Hospice.
Danny was born December 7, 1937 near Davis City, IA the son of Lloyd and Goldie (Sly) Gorden. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Danny was co-owner of GSM Corporation. He was a member of the American Legion, the Shriners, and St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Danny enjoyed riding his Harley, gardening and had a passion for rebuilding tractors.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Gorden in 1990; two sisters; five brothers; and his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife Maxine of 55 years; daughters, Kim Macko and husband Tim, Debbie Baanders and husband John; grandchildren, Matthew, Adam, and Christopher Macko; Ian, Elise, and Carly Baanders; sister, Lila Belle Carlile and husband Harold; and many beloved nephews, nieces and family.
