Barbara Jean Gordon (Cullimore)

Barbara Jean Gordon, 74 of Ft. Worth, TX, formerly of Independence, MO passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Texas Health Center in Arlington, TX. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow in Lathrop Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the chapel. Barbara was born October 21, 1941 in Troy, KS to Marvin Joseph and Ester Bell (Richman) Cullimore and graduated from high school in Bethel, KS. She was a factory worker for manufacturing companies in the Independence area for a number of years until she retired in 1990. She enjoyed camping, fishing, antique shopping and doll collecting. Barbara was adopted at an early age and was able to reunite with some of her siblings later in life. She is survived by; a son, Charles Usher in Fort Worth, TX; a daughter, Bridget Smeltzer and husband Darrel of Gladstone, MO; 3 brothers, Tom Johnson, Paul Barker and Jim Harrell; 2 sisters, Betty and Diane and 2 grandchildren.
