Ken Goswick, 77, of Independence, MO passed away November 2, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 6-8pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Military Honors will be rendered at 7pm at the chapel. Ken was born on June 26, 1940 in Duenweg, MO to Lloyd and Ruth (Simon) Goswick. He was a graduate of West Plains High School. After high school, Ken proudly served in the US Army. Ken retired from Yellow Freight after 31 years, and was a member of Teamsters Local 41. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, building several doll cradles and rocking chairs for many children. He also enjoyed his time at the family cabin at Stockton Lake, hunting, fishing, and just being outside. When at home, Ken along with his wife Nina, loved working in the garden. They also liked to travel around the country visiting National Parks. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd & Ruth Goswick Holt and sister Barbara Navarro. Survivors include; his loving wife of over 58 years, Nina (Cary) Goswick; son Kenny Goswick II and his wife Kristine; daughter Kelly Betts and her husband Mike; 8 grandchildren; sister Elaine Montgomery and husband Bob; brother Lyndall Goswick; a large extended family and many friends.
