William E. “Pete” Goucher, 71, Independence, MO passed away Oct. 16, 2017. Graveside service will be noon, Friday, Oct. 20 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64055.
Pete was born Sept, 3, 1946 in Windsor, MO and his family moved to Independence when he was three years old. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Kansas City Southern/Milwaukee Railroad for fifteen years before going to work for Lipton for twelve years and retiring. He was an avid Chiefs fan and enjoyed NASCAR, woodworking and building antique cars. Pete was preceded in death by siblings Charles, Raymond, Ralph, Bob, Thelma, Betty, Dennis, Florence, Beverly and Barbara. He is survived by his wife of nearly fifty years Sherry Goucher, of the home; daughters Dawn Goucher, Montrose, MO; Misty Goucher, of the home; Autumn Goucher, Independence, MO; sisters Hazel Conwell, Arva Snyder, both of Lincoln, MO; brothers Kenneth Goucher and wife Peggy, Kansas City, MO; Ronnie Goucher and wife Cindy, Independence, MO and eleven grandchildren.
