Ricky Graham

Ricky Stephen Graham, 67 of Parkville, MO, passed away, Monday, June 2, 2014 at Shawnee Gardens Care Center following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Christ Lutheran Church, 6700 NW 72nd St. Kansas City, MO 64151. Burial with full military honors will be in Terrace Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association. Ricky was born November 28, 1946 in Evansville, IN to Charles and Flossie (Lumm) Graham. He graduated high school in Pond Creek, OK in 1964 and later from Washburn University with a bachelor in business administration. He had worked as a computer programmer for the US Post Office in Topeka for over 25 years until he retired in 1993. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam from 1964-69. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and most of all spending time with his family. He was passionate about Alzheimer’s research and donated tirelessly to find a cure. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Washburn Alumni Association, VFW in Fort Scott, KS and the NRA. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 45 years, Paula of the home; 3 daughters, Jill Smith, Nancy Kent and husband Tony and Beth Kent and husband Fred; his mother, Flossie Graham; 2 brothers, Larry Graham and Pat Graham; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
