DeeAnna Marie Greathouse, 71, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington, Independence, MO 64052. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Carl Junction Cemetery, Carl Junction, MO. DeeAnna was born to Charlie and Mary (Joe) Hiner on November 12, 1947 in Eugene, OR. She was one of six siblings. In 1965, DeeAnna met Michael Greathouse at work and less than a year later, the two were married and began their 36-year journey together. The couple had three daughters, Christine, Kimberly and Jennifer. DeeAnna was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell until her retirement in 2006, a career she was very proud of. DeeAnna was a loving and strong mother. She loved music, watching the news, her bible, slot machines, and dancing with Uncle Jerry. Above all else, DeeAnna adored her family, especially “her boys”, grandsons, Michael and Blaise. DeeAnna is survived by her daughters, Christine Greathouse, Kimberly Lane, and Jennifer (Kevin) Wilson; sister, Anna (Jim) Guerber; sister, Mary Renken; brother, Gary (Debbie) Hiner; grandsons, Michael Lane and Blaise Wilson; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Michael; and brothers, Butch and Fred Hiner.
