Robert Greaves

Robert “Bob” C. Greaves, 85, Independence, MO passed from this life to his eternal home on Friday, March 14, 2014. Services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 18 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am before the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Central Assembly of God, 1009 W 23rd St S, Independence, MO 64055. Robert spent most of his early years in Miami, OK where he met his wife Clara (Shafer) Greaves. While living in Miami, he worked for the Coleman Theater as a projectionist and later at the B.F. Goodrich plant. In 1953 they moved to Kansas City, MO and settled in Independence, MO where they lived for over fifty years. He retired from the Lake City plant in 1992. He was a member of Central Assembly of God. Robert leaves his wife of sixty-two years Clara Greaves; son Lloyd Greaves and wife Joyce; daughter Robbie Greaves Griffin and husband Bill; five grandsons and seventeen great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff at Carmel Hills Living Center and Heartland Hospice.
