Herbert Charles Green

Herbert C. Green, 88, of Independence, MO, passed away on Wednesday, December 25th, 2019. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 2nd from 9-10am with a funeral service following at 10am, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Interment will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, IA.

Herbert was born January 23, 1931 in Des Moines to Frank and Jessie (Mcconnachie) Green. He had been an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He enjoyed bowling and golf, taking walks with his faithful companion, Murphy and always had an immense sweet tooth!!

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marilyn; his children, Debra (Doug) Green of Lee’s Summit, Randal Green of Emporia, Karen (Steven) Taylor of Raymore, and Jason Green of Independence; 6 grandchildren, Mackenzie (Orrin) Wilson, Zachary Taylor, Savannah Taylor, Maddison Taylor, Brandon Green, Ryan Green; and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jessie Green; an infant daughter, Shari; his sister Margaret and his two brothers, Frank and Jerry.
