Mary Gregg, 80, of Independence, Mo passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018. A visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30am on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church 10017 E. 36th Terr., Independence, MO, 64052. Mass will begin at 11:30am at the church.
Mary was born on December 23, 1937 in Independence, MO to Faye and Etta (Nash) Hisey. She was a proud parishioner at Nativity of Mary for over 40 years. She worked various jobs over the years including The Dime Store in Brookside with her husband, Joseph, for 15 years. Mary’s main role in life was being a wife and a mother. She made each child their favorite cake on their birthdays, the family took many trips to Colorado and they all liked swimming in their pool. Mary also enjoyed puzzles, reading, and feeding the birds. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren.
She will be remembered by her son Joseph Gregg of Independence, MO; daughter Debbie Miller and husband Kevin of Independence, MO; sons Donald Gregg and wife Stephanie of Blue Springs, MO, and David Gregg and wife Michele of Independence, MO; sister Betty Calcara of Shawnee, KS, and Joanne Frobish of Kearney, MO; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 54 years, Joseph E. Gregg. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice Partners in Kansas City.
