Gretchen Booz (90), passed away on September 16, 2024 at Benton House in Blue Springs, Missouri. She shared 56 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Don Booz.

Born in Boone, Iowa, Gretchen was the daughter of David and Katherine Berg. She graduated from Graceland University in 1955, and later served for 12 years as a member of Graceland’s Board of Trustees. She devoted more than 40 years of her career to Herald Publishing House in Independence, Missouri, where she was the Director of Marketing.

Gretchen was a dedicated member of the Community of Christ and attended the Colonial Hills congregation in Blue Springs. Over the years, she served in many world church and congregational ministry and leadership roles. She will be remembered for her big smile, hospitality, deep commitment, creativity and positive spirit.

Gretchen is survived by her children, Joe Booz (Sherry) and Katie Arnold-Clow (Randy); grandchildren, DJ Booz, Layne Buboltz (Austin), Cory Arnold and Hallee Arnold; great grandchildren, Hudson and Renley Buboltz; and siblings Velda Schaal and Ken Berg (Sandy). She was predeceased by her husband, Don Booz; daughter, Kendra Booz; sister, Gerry Lysinger; brothers-in-law; John Lysinger and Rod Schaal; and nephew, Steve Schaal.
