John Griffall

John Griffall, 61, of Independence, MO. passed away, Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at his residence. Cremation is planned with an informal memorial service to be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 at his home, 4805 S. Tierney Dr. Independence, MO 64055. Donations to Ozanam School for Boys. John was born October 25, 1946 in Orangeburg, SC to Peter and Marcia (Stoner) Griffall. He had worked as a Speech and Language Pathologist for Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, reading and boogey boarding. He was a member of the ASHA and the Rotary Club in Blue Springs, MO. He proudly served in the U.S. Army 1st Calvary Division during Vietnam from 1964-67. He is survived by; his former wife, Kathy Griffall of Kansas City, MO; 2 sons, Jordon Graham and his wife Andrea of Independence, MO and Nate Reed and his wife Brooke of Kansas City, MO; 2 daughters, Michelle Graham of Kansas City, MO and Melina Johnson and her husband Robert of Three Rivers, TX; his mother, Marcia Barcelli of Jacksonville, FL; father, Peter Griffall and his Nell of Wrightsville, GA; a brother, Keith Griffall and his wife Tracey of Salt Lake City, UT; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Anita Peters of Weatherby Lake, MO; 4 grandchildren, 3 nephews, a niece and his favorite “Aunt Bootsie”, Jessie Stoner. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Odyssey Hospice and Dr.’s Braham and Chris Geha.
