Dawn R. Grimm

Dawn R Grimm, 48 of Independence, Missouri celebrated her last day with us, Monday, August 15 2016 at her home. Dawn was born June 7, 1968 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Marvin and Betty (Smith) Grimm. In 1986 Dawn graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. On August 10, 2013 she married Sandy J. Ballinger in Raytown, Missouri. Dawn worked in restaurant, and retail management for twenty five years until she followed her heart and began to pursue her dream of becoming a chiropractor. Dawn was a believer of family and framily. She loved being around people and never knew a stranger. She was the life of the party, and was the true testament of living life to the fullest. She is preceded in death by her father Marvin E Grimm and maternal grandparents Merle A Grimm, and Freda Edwards and Vincent and Thelma Smith. Survivors include: her wife, Sandy J Grimm, mother, Betty Grimm, sister, Janora K Miller; her two children, Billie and Erica Shewman, two brothers, Merle T. Grimm and his son Jakob Grimm, Brian Grimm and his two daughters, Larissa and Anna Grimm, and her four great nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 20 2016 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. Honoring Dawn's request, there will be an all day celebration of life held Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Kitty Kat Klub located at 11713 E. 23rd Street Independence, Missouri 64050. Potluck at 3 pm. “Carrieoke” beginning at 6 pm. Please stop in and celebrate Dawn's life anytime throughout the day as there will be some memorabilia and a designated chair for you to toast her on her new journey.
