Mary Leta Gross (Mcmahan)

Mary L. Gross, 89, Independence, MO passed away Feb. 11, 2016. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday, Feb. 15 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Graveside services will be 10 am, Tuesday at Mt. Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Eastgate Christian Church, 4010 S River Blvd, Independence, MO 64055. Mary was born Oct. 31, 1926 in LaDue, MO and graduated from Deepwater High School. She was a bus driver for the Independence School District for over thirty years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed knitting and needle point in her spare time. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Emil Gross and her parents Archibald N. and Alice M. (Wolfe) McMahan. She is survived by son Gary Gross and wife Jackie; grandchildren Alicia Hill; Mary Schulz; James Gross and wife Ashley, all of Independence, MO; great-grandchildren Katelin Schulz, Cecilia Ann Hill, Alexis Nicholle Schulz, Emily Dawn Hill, Destiny Hope Schulz and Jacob Hill.
