Ray G. Gross, 77, of Buckner, MO, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at home, surrounded by the love of his family. A time of gathering will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2012 at Buckner United Methodist Church; 109 S. Hudson St., Buckner, MO 64016. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, in Levasy, MO. Ray was born June 20, 1935, in Levasy, to Dr. Paul and Malinda (Meinershagen) Gross. He served in the U.S. Army, and later became an architect for Tognascioli, Gross, Jarvis Architects, as well as HJM Architects. Ray was a loyal member of Buckner United Methodist Church for many years, serving on the finance committee. Ray was preceded in death by two siblings; infant brother, Paul Eugene Gross, and sister, Shirley Stock. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy (Reitz) Gross; daughter, DeAnna Edwards (Gregory); son Kevin Gross (Pam); daughter, Angela Parker; son, Chris Gross (Cathy); nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two nephews.
