James Louis Guillaume, of Independence, MO, a proud Eagle Scout since August 31, 1987, who was caring, helpful, humble and would bend over backwards for anyone, passed away on June 20, 2021. He was 49 years old. James was born on October 11, 1971 in Independence, Missouri, to James and Susan Guillaume. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in the class of 1990. James was a great father to his three children: Jaimie, Katherine and Daniel, and was extremely family oriented. James joined Boy Scouts in 1981 and was a longtime Shaman in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was currently active in Troop 492 and he proudly earned his tribal name of Shaman Little Wak-A-Lot. James worked as a security guard for Rockwell Security for over 10 years. He was a fun person who was outgoing, and enjoyed beading, hunting and the outdoors. James loved 80’s music and movies, and was known as “Mini Blockbuster,” for his elaborate movie collection. In his spare time, James could be found working on small engines, or playing pool. He will always be remembered for being so lovable and his famous Dutch oven apple cobbler that will be missed by many. James is survived by his children, Jaimie L. Guillaume, Katherine A. Guillaume, and Daniel J. Guillaume; grandchildren, Brightin Craig, Ava Lind and McKenzie Craig; father, James E. Guillaume; sister, Cheryl Lynn Guillaume; nieces, Jeanetta Sneed and Jessica Sneed, and aunt, Nancy Planck. He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Faye Guillaume, and grandparents, John James Guillaume and Jean Worth. A visitation to honor James will be held on Friday, July 2, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th. St. in Independence, MO.
