Barbara Ruth (McNatt) Gunzel, 85, Independence, MO passed away July 14, 2006. Graveside services will be held 10 am, Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Odessa Cemetery, Odessa, MO. Visitation will be 6:30 - 8:30 pm, Monday at Speaks Suburban Chapel.
Barbara was born Feb. 26, 1921 in Hillsboro, IL and graduated from Odessa High School in the Class of 1939. She and her husband Jim owned Englewood Shoe Repair for 47 years. She was very devoted to her family and community. She was a member of the Santa Fe Trail Doll Club, Vail Mansion Society and the Independence Business Assoc.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jim Gunzel, of the home; son James Michael Gunzel and wife Ann, Lee�s Summit, MO; daughter Phyllis Tormey, Olathe, KS; grandchildren Aaron Gunzel and wife Dorothy, Independence; Adrienne Arcand and husband Joseph, Germany; Joanne Simpson and husband John, Lee�s Summit, MO; Matthew Tormey, Olathe, KS; Katherine Kraai and husband Steven, North Kansas City, MO; Jeffrey Tormey, Denver, CO; and great-granddaughter Natalie Arcand, Germany.
