Carolyn Sue Haddock   Piel (Smith)

Ms. Carolyn Sue (Haddock) Piel, 73, Grain Valley, MO died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital, Blue Springs, Missouri. Her life will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28th at The Lighthouse Church of Independence, 14411 E. 33rd Street South, Independence, Missouri. She was born in Kansas City on March 16, 1943, daughter of Edna and Ernest Smith. She was married to Dave Haddock in Smithton, Missouri on April 13, 1962 who preceded her in death. She was married to Don Piel on Dec. 31, 1983 in Missouri City, Missouri who also preceded her in death. She was saved at an early age and attended Grain Valley Baptist Church. Sue was a mother of four children: a daughter Joanne Marie who preceded her in death and three sons: James Haddock, Blue Springs; Jason Haddock, Independence; and John Haddock, Blue Springs. She had four stepchildren: Brenda, Susan, Diana and John Edward, 24 grandchildren and many great- grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Anna Hedgpeth and Shirley Minnick of Pleasant Valley; Tom Smith of Holt, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
