Renata E. Hader, 99, Independence, Mo., died peacefully Sunday, July 29, 2012, at St. Mary’s Manor, Blue Springs, Mo. Visitation will be on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 17200 E. 39th St. South, Independence, Mo. 64055. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m., Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Alma, Mo. She was born June 29, 1913, Alma, Mo., daughter of William and Gesche Rolf. She married Ervin O. Hader on December 24, 1936 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Alma, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; two brothers, Fred Rolf, Alma, Mo. and Herman “Brownie” Rolf, Higginsville, Mo and one sister, Marie Moenkhoff, Alma, Mo. She is survived by four nieces and nephews and their families: Frances Bargfrede, Alma, Mo., Randolph Rolf, Vero Beach, FL., Joe Rolf, Higginsville, Mo., and Lana Thurmon, Blue Springs, Mo. She is also survived by 2 of her husband’s nieces and their families; Gladys Frank, Lee’s Summit, Mo. and Shelly Lewis, Columbia, Mo. She also boasted of having 106 living nieces, nephews, including great, great great and great great great of whom she could name every single one. Renata graduated from Alma High School in 1932. She served in a variety of clerical positions, working for The Forum Cafeteria and Rival Manufacturing Companies. She then became secretary at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for 12 years, retiring in 1979 to care for her ailing husband who died on Feb. 3, 1982. Renata belonged to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Lutheran Laymen's League and the St. Paul’s Altar Guild. Aunt Renata as she was known to her many family members was a talented seamstress and crafts person. She volunteered at the Independence Square Jackson County Courthouse Senior Citizens Craft shop for 8 years where she sold her many arts and crafts. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family and friends, church activities and sewing her many projects.
