Frank W. Haight, Sr., 93, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, November 29, 2004 at Medical Center of Independence following a brief illness. He had lived at Willshire at Lakewood in Lee�s Summit since September of 2003. Services will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation from 1:30 p.m. until service time Thursday at the chapel. Frank was born September 15, 1911 in Mobile, AL to Frank L. and Margaret (Winter) Haight. He worked as an Freight Agent at the Alabama-Tennessee & Northern Railroad, the Gulf Mobile & Ohio Railroad and the Illinois Central Railroad for a total of 41 years until he retired in 1977, when he moved to Daphne, AL with his wife. Frank lived in Independence from 1951 until 1977, while there, he was an active member in the First Christian Church where he taught the Philaethea Sunday school class and sang in the choir for approximately 25 years. He also was a lay minister and pastor for Walula Kansas Christian Church for about 12 years before retiring. He was married to Elsie Vea (Creamer), who died in 1991 after 58 years of marriage. Survivors include; a son, Frank W. Haight, Jr and his wife Ann Dobson Haight of Independence, MO; a daughter, Carol Haight Johnson and her husband Ronald Dean Johnson of St. John, IN; a brother, Lawrence Haight of Louisiana; 2 sisters, Catherine Waterson of Orange Beach, AL and Annie Winn of Mobile, AL; 4 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Donation to the New Life Assembly of God Church in Spanish Fort, AL.
