SHARON LOUISE HALEY
January 10, 1958 – March 27, 2022
Sharon Louise Haley, a woman of tremendous faith, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 27, 2022. She was 64. Sharon was born to William and Kathleen Haley on January 10, 1958 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Sharon was retired from a 38 year career with Toys R Us, and was now doing what she loved. She started the “Bits & Pieces” sewing studio at the church that she adored, where she was able to sew, quilt, and do projects for her church, family and friends. Her favorite part of being at the studio was helping and teaching both adults and children how to sew and quilt. She has proudly volunteered her time and has created many beautiful works and brought joy and the love of sewing to many others.
The Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was a very big part of her life, and has been a second family to her. Sharon was devoted and actively involved in church activities. Her kind smile and bright and loving personality will be missed.
Sharon was born in Canada, but grew up in Sterling Heights, MI where she graduated from Sterling Heights High School in 1977. She moved to Independence, MO in 1992 to be closer to her church and extended church family. She was proud of her Canadian heritage, as well as her American citizenship which she was granted in recent years.
Sharon is survived by her mother, Kathleen (Young) Haley; father, William E Haley; brother William C Haley (wife Patty); brother Robert E Haley (wife Cindy); sister, Janice Hollabaugh (husband Ty); nieces, Jennifer Haley and Nicole Hollabaugh; nephew, Shane Hollabaugh.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Hazel & Robert Young, and Hazel & Ray Robinson.
