Marian Hall-Carr

August 26, 1928 — September 11, 2018

Marian Jean Monsees Hall-Carr was born august 26, 1928 to Shelby and Ruby Monsees in Smithton Missouri. She lived a long and full life, turning 90 last month. Sadly, she passed away September 11, 2018.

Marian was pre-deceased by her parents and a niece, Sandy Garretson. She is survived by a sister, Betty Jane Saad of Overland Park and two nephews. She is loved immensely by her six children: Jerry Hall, Janet & Doug Weatherman, Jon & Cathy Hall, Jamie & Melissa Hall, Becky Hall and Joe Hall; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren Nathan & Robin Weatherman, Hayden & Landon; Natalie & Steven Hicks, Michael & Sally, Dalton & Gavin; Shelby Hall & Nate Rowan; Austin Hall & Melissa Hendrix, Mallory & Derek Zarda, Madison Hall; John Curtis & Cristy Hall, Adalynn, Emmitt & Roman; Toni Hall & Justin Gann, Frankie & Ember; Taz & Audrey hall; Carly Hall.

Other than time spent in college or the military, her children never lived more than an hour from her. She was truly devoted to her family and was always proud of their achievements and unfailingly encouraged them through difficult times. She waited to start working until the last child was in school and ended her career at Stateline UMB Bank where she enjoyed her safe-deposit customers. Her inner strength and determined spirit helped her to overcome a horrific accident at the age of 70 when she was told she wouldn’t walk again. She proved the doctors wrong and only entertained a wheelchair in the past few years. She had a sweet disposition and a twinkle in her eye, and in earlier years was a Royals ticket holder, enjoyed reading and playing cards.

Marian surprised everyone, marrying Paul Carr in her 80s. They loved each other and enjoyed together their church, cheering on MU, the Royals and Chiefs and watching Rachel Maddow and Wheel of Fortune.

We were blessed to have her in our lives and all will surely miss her unconditional love.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 29, 1:00 p.m. Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1400 W Sheley Rd Independence, MO.
