Larry A. Hamilton

Larry A. Hamilton, 66, of Mountain Top, PA passed away April 21, 2018 while visiting family in Missouri. All services will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26th from 6 – 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27th at 10 AM. Larry was born June 8th, 1951 in Warrensburg, MO and grew up in Lee’s Summit where he attended school and graduated from LCC. He and his family were long-standing and very active members of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit. He also served in the Kansas National Guard. Larry worked for Sears Distribution Center in Kansas City, MO for 22 years and in Wilkes Barre, PA for 24 years. He took great pride in his work, retiring in management in March 2017. He enjoyed hunting and golfing. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ermel and Dorothy (Logsdon) Hamilton and his sister Carolyn Smith. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carolyn (Metoyer); daughter Erin Patton and husband John, Greenwood, MO; son Joshua Hamilton and wife Serena, Kingston, PA; sisters Linda Kesler and husband Russ, Raymore, MO; Denise Konitshek and husband Rick, Cary, NC; brother Dennis, Lincoln, MO; two grandchildren Noah and Amelia and another due in September from Joshua and Serena; nieces Jennifer, MaryBeth, Hannah, Haley; nephews Jason and Daniel.
