Bob Hamilton, 90, of Buckner, MO passed away November 19, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Visitation will be from 9-11 am with Funeral services at 11 am on November 24, 2018 at Buckner United Methodist Church. Burial will full Military Honors will take place in Buckner Hill Cemetery. Bob was born on September 9, 1928 in Independence, MO to Christopher and Gladys Rucker Hamilton. He was a life time resident of Buckner and graduated from High School in Buckner. In 1951 he joined the United States Air Force and achieved the rank of 1st Lt. It was during this time that he married the love of his life J. Charlyne Hamilton. After leaving the service in 1953 they returned to their hometown of Buckner for a short time before becoming a teacher at Wentworth Military Academy. He had a passion for History and enjoyed teaching others. The young couple returned to Buckner to start their family. For many years he was a Cub Scout Master for Troop 208. For over 35 years Bob was an oil jobber for Phillips 66. He along with his wife owned 5 gas stations in the area. In 1980 Bob along with a boyhood friend, Bob Rogers, built Osage Communications which was the first cable system in Buckner & Sibley. Horticulture and flower gardening was his main hobby and he exceled as a master gardener. Bob was truly loved and will be forever missed. Survivors include: his loving wife of 68 years Charlyne; son Russell Hamilton and his wife Tina; daughter Kathy Taylor and her husband John; granddaughter Ashley Starr and her husband Justin; grandson Christopher Hamilton and his wife Brooke; great grandchildren Alyvia Marie Starr, Maclan Lee Starr, Brantlee Christopher Hamilton and Stanlee Robert Hamilton.
