Frances J. Hammond

Frances J. Hammond, 84 of Independence passed away Sat. May 28, 2005 at Maywood Terrace Living Center. Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Thu. Jun 2, 2005 at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 - 8:30 pm Wed, Jun 1, 2005 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Mrs. Hammond was born on Jun 7, 1920 to Francis and Ruth Johnson in Independence and was a life long area resident. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed Sewing, Reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her husband Vance Hammond. She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Wendleton and husband Les. A grandson, Lee Wendleton, all of Independence. Two sisters in law, Letha Medek of Independence and Mary Lee Fisher of Kansas City, MO. The family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice and the staff at Maywood Terrace Living Center for the love and care they showed to Mrs. Hammond.
