Dorothy Handy-Soper, 75 of Blue Springs, MO passed away, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at her residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to Hill Cumorah Restoration Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or to the Grain Valley RLDS. Dorothy was born April 14, 1941 in Independence, MO to Earl and Lucile (Williamson) Sinclair and has been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1959 and attended CMSU in Warrensburg, MO. She was a school teacher for many years. She was a member of the Hill Cumorah Restoration Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by: 2 sons, Sheldon Handy and Gregg Handy both of Blue Springs, MO; a sister, Carol Wieligman of Blue Springs; 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Eric, Cory and Shealeigh and one great grandson, Carson.
