James H. Haney, 84, of Independence, MO passed away November 17, 2014. A memorial visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. James was born September 16, 1930 in Howell County, MO to R. Fred Haney and Sarah (Roop) Haney. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country in Korea. He was the owner of Crescent Fence Company for 41 years, until his retirement in 2003. James enjoyed the outdoors, and especially loved horseback riding, fishing and woodworking. He will be remembered by his family as an honest, trustworthy man who was quiet, but had incredible strength. He will be dearly missed. James was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Tommy, Orville and Charles Haney; and one sister, Mae Jordan. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma Haney; son Steve Haney; one sister, Joyce Wilson; two grandchildren, Luke Haney and Lindsey Lang; and two great grandchildren, Chase Haney and Wyatt Lang.
