Wanda was born February 23, 1926, to Madeline (Fisher) and Ray C. Hoss, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and was enrolled and baptized a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Underwood, Iowa. She was graduated from Underwood High School, continuing her studies at Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, with a major in music. On August 20, 1949, she married Francis E. Hansen, her husband of 54 years, who survives. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Blair and Sugin Hansen, of Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho; her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl Hansen and Scott Sinclair, of Johnson Creek, Wisconsin; her brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Colene Hoss, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and grandchildren, John, Gina and Cheryl Ann.
A love of God, family, friends, music and the arts were the constant themes in her life; a life rich in color and joy that she spread through her gifts to others. She and her husbands lifelong work was dedicated to church service, and took them to southern California and the Independence, MO, area, where they made their permanent home. Music was a special interest her entire life, one that overlapped and complimented her strong church ties. She studied music privately and through course work at Pasadena City College in Pasadena, CA, becoming an accomplished pianist in high demand for special occasions, as well as playing regularly at church services and church choirs for many years. Her special talent led her to share it with many students. She expressed her active intrest in the arts as a regular volunteer at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, MO. She was also a frequent volunteer at the Community of Christ Temple museum Ambassador Corps.
As an adjunct to supporting her family, she worked in a number of different capacities in many different companies and organizations. These include the Union Pacific Railroad, the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Geological Survey, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Social Security Administration from which she medically retired in 1984.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents.
