MayDean “Bobbie” Hardy, 99, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at her home. Bobbie was born August 29, 1918 in Pleasanton, KS to Robert Blake and Mary Frances (Dean) Speaks and has been a longtime Independence resident.
She spent her early life in Pleasanton and graduated high school there before moving to Independence in 1938. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother, with a radiant personality who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a woman of deep faith who loved her Lord and Savior.
She worked for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for over 30 years until her retirement in 1983.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ - South Crysler Restoration Branch. She was married to Raymond Hardy on April 2, 1948; he preceded her in death in 2009. Survivors include four children, Cheri Wolff, Gaye (Robert) McIntyre, Randy (Mary) Hardy and Lisa Herron; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many treasured friends and devoted caregivers.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Wednesday at the chapel.
