Dean Edwin Harris

Dean Edwin Harris, 77, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Services will be Friday, Sept. 12, at 11:00 am at the Black Oak Church on Braymer, MO. Burial will take place in Black Oak Cemetery. Dean was born on April 4, 1937 to Charles and Loriane (Weeks) Harris in Ray County MO. Dean was a 1956 graduate of Braymer High School, earning the nick name of “Fireball Harris’ for his agility on the football team. For over 35 years Dean worked for the Community of Christ Church as a custodian, and for several law offices. Dean was an avid football fan, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and listening to old country music. Dean is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include; daughters, Debra Croninger, Laura Deann Miller, and step-daughter, Amanda Reeves; 8 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly Barron; and his faithful 4 legged companion, Daisy Harris.
