Edith L. Harris, 87, passed away October 4, 2020 at her home in Edwards, MO. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. service on Monday, October 12, 2020 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Golden Valley Hospice, Clinton, MO. Edith was born April 26, 1933. She was married to Vernon L. Harris in Fulton, MO on December 20, 1951. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon L. Harris Sr.; parents, August William and Myrtle Marie (McKinney) Walker; son, Ronnie L. Harris; two brothers, Ralph and Bill Walker; and four grandchildren, Steven Harris Jr., Rhonda Runyon, Angela M. Locke and Justin W. Locke. Edith retired from Independence Custom Fabric in Independence, MO in 1997, before moving back to Edwards, MO in 1997. She always loved Edwards, MO. She loved watching deer, birds, hummingbirds and even squirrels and rabbits. She really knew her birds and fishing. Edith loved each and every one of her kids, family and friends. She will be missed by everyone that truly knew what a great person she was. Edith is survived by two sons, Stephen Lee Harris Sr. (Christina), Vernon Lee Harris Jr.; four daughters, Connie Lee Wolfe, Katherine Jean Harris Runyon (Ronald), Mary McIntyre, Lisa Jo Harris (Jeff); one sister, Nancy Walker; eighteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
