Brenda Avis Harrod

Brenda Harrod, 52, of Independence, MO passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 19, 2016. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Memorial follow will at 4pm at the chapel. Brenda was born on January 24, 1962 in Laramie, WY to Don and Marie (Trujillo) Harrod. Brenda was a free spirit that loved people, she can best be described as young, free, and wild. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, who will be truly missed by her family. Brenda’s greatest joy in life was her grandson, Kingston. She was also an animal lover, and was a member of the ASPCA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ASPCA or KC Pet Project. Survivors include; life partner Shannon McDonald; daughter Ashley Reed; grandson Kingston Reed; mother Marie Kundee; sisters Donis Hamtil (Sean), Vicky Katosh, and Dalene Goetz (Rich); brothers Deniss Moreno (Linda), Lou Moreno (Kim), Gregory Moreno and Don Harrod Jr.; several nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
