Carla Hartel

Carla Hartel, 54, of Independence, MO was called home on Saturday, July 16, 2016. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the chapel. Carla entered this world on October 20, 1961 in Pueblo, CO, born to Bill Clemons and Sheila Maxwell. The family moved to Independence, MO where Carla attended school. She worked in maintenance for Team Solutions, a company contracted by Ford Motor Company. She enjoyed reading, writing, traveling, and socializing. Most of all she enjoyed time with her family and many friends. Carla will be remembered by her daughter Jamie Cotton and husband Michael of Trenton, MO; son Joseph Guthrie of Trenton, MO; sisters Brenda Williams and husband Ben of Independence, MO, Rhonda Ashby and husband Dan of Independence, MO, and Karen Clemons and Justin Smith of Independence, MO; brother Jason Clemons and wife Michele of Independence, MO; her best friend for life Robin Roberts of Holt, MO; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to American Stroke Association.
