Constance "Connie� Harter, 50, Independence, Mo. died May 4, 2004, at North Kansas City Hospital after a fight with cancer. Services will be 7 pm, Friday, May 7, 2004, at 1st Presbyterian Church of Independence. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside services will be 2 pm, following a visitation at 1:30 pm, Monday, May 10 at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park, Murphysboro, Il. Connie was born Sept. 16, 1953, in Murphysboro, Illinois. She was a case worker for the Missouri Division of Family Service and was a member and a former Deacon of the church, an Assoc. member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, former Apple Festival Queen in Murphysboro, Il., and a Stephens Minister. She is survived by her husband, Paul D. Harter, (formerly of St. Joseph) of the home; daughter, Whitney A. Braswell, Dallas, TX; sister, Julie Harper, Murphysboro, Il; and brother, Denis Elliott, VA.
